Luke Campbell slams ‘rubbish’ judges and thinks he won ‘at least five rounds’ in one-sided Lomachenko defeat
LUKE CAMPBELL has rubbished the judges' scorecards in his world title defeat to Vasiliy Lomachenko.
The Hull boxer came up short in his bid to win three world title belts at lightweight.
Lomachenko got the verdict 119-108, 119-108, 118-108 at London's O2 Arena - with most agreeing it was a one-sided clash.
Campbell fought bravely against a man considered the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world.
But while not disputing who won the fight, the Hull hitter believes the scoring should have been a lot closer than it was.
And he thinks he won FIVE out of the 12 rounds contested.
ACCEPTS HE LOST
Speaking to Sky Sports news and sporting sunglasses to possibly hide a black eye or two, Campbell said: "I got beat by the better man.
"But I think the scorecards were really rubbish - they didn't tell the story whatsoever.
"I thought at least I had five rounds that I thought I won.
"They didn't tell the story of the fight whatsoever so that's a little bit disappointing.
"Emotionally I am in pain through the loss. As you can see in my performance in the way I go about my work, I go in there to win, I don't want to lose.
BELT-ING PROMISE
"Losing is very painful for me."
"Listen, I'm not going anywhere until I win them world titles, I keep pushing, I do believe I have got a lot better from that performance.
"I have learnt a few tricks from Loma, you're in for more great fights for me, and I'll win those belts."
After the fight Campbell was taken to hospital for precautionary tests.
Promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed Cool Hand was physically drained after going toe-to-toe with Lomachenko.

And thankfully the defeated Campbell confirmed he is feeling fine.
He added: "I didn't volunteer to go, it was just a routine check I think they are just being extra cautious with what's being going on in boxing these last couple of months.
"We have had a couple of boxers that have passed away so I think it's just a routine check, but I'm completely fine."
