Scott Quigg shows off gruesome face wounds after points loss to Oscar Valdez but insists he will come back stronger
Bury-born fighter endured a broken nose and two black eyes while Valdez sustained a fractured jaw
BRUISED and battered Scott Quigg vowed to come back stronger after his points defeat to Oscar Valdez.
The English fighter lost on a unanimous points decision to the undefeated Mexican after coming into the fight 2.8lbs overweight.
Quigg, 29, suffered a broken nose and two black eyes after taking a series of punishing blows against Valdez.
And he showed off his battle scars following the WBO featherweight fight before apologising for not making weight.
It meant he wouldn't be allowed to claim the title even if he had defeated Valdez.
Taking to social media, he said: "Congrats to @oscarvaldez56 and his team. Again I apologise for not making weight but I couldn't have done anymore in camp or in the ring last night.
"It's a tough sport but one that I dedicate my life to. I will be back.
"Also I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that travelled over to support me and all the messages of support from back home.
