Joshua vs Parker: AJ may be forced to fight Dominic Breazeale again as his next opponent instead of Deontay Wilder

American Breazeale was stopped in June 2016 at London’s O2 as Joshua made a successful first IBF title defence

A WIN for Anthony Joshua tonight would spark a clamour for a heavyweight unification showdown with Deontay Wilder — but it might just have to wait.

AJ could be forced to face Dominic Breazeale, who he has already smashed in seven rounds.

JOSHUA VS PARKER LIVE AJ loses a stone ahead of unification blockbuster with Kiwi

American Breazeale was stopped in June 2016 at London’s O2 as Joshua made a successful first defence of the IBF title he took off Charles Martin.

The IBF has told Breazeale to agree terms by April 10 for a final eliminator against Kubrat Pulev — the winner being installed as mandatory challenger for Joshua.

Jarrell Miller, 29, is another under-the-radar American heavyweight who insists he could fight Joshua in the autumn.

The former kickboxer faces Johann Duhaupas on April 28 at New York’s Barclays Centre in a card organised by AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom.

That tie-up between camps should make negotiations easier for Joshua to fight Miller.

Dillian Whyte could also slow up Joshua’s bid to take Wilder’s WBC crown and unify the division.

Londoner Whyte expects to be named as the mandatory challenger for Wilder’s WBC strap.

To muddy the waters further Wilder refused to defend his title against Whyte — insisting the £4million offer from Matchroom to stage the bout was nowhere near good enough.

Wilder insists the only way he will fight Whyte next is to get an absolute guarantee Joshua would then be next.

But do not hold your breath as all that could change if Parker pulls off a surprise in Cardiff.

Joshua vs Parker: Tips and odds ahead of unification bout

ANTHONY JOSHUA has vowed to take his time and pick his shots, while Joseph Parker will be relying to land a big hit, writes Wally Downes Jr.

If AJ adopts his calculated approach, Parker will be on the back foot - but regardless of his tactics we back Joshua to win by stoppage.

And he could select his shots and KO the Kiwi in the later rounds.

But if Parker turns this bout into a scrap, which he needs to do, AJ could land his heavy right hand earlier on.
