Joshua Buatsi beats Bartlomiej Grafka in unanimous decision after one-sided bout

Rising star failed to land a KO victory but was never troubled at the Millennium Stadium

JOSHUA BUATSI earned his fifth straight win with a landslide points victory over Bartlomiej Grafka on Saturday.

The Croydon ace - who prepares for each fight with a late dash to the barber after the final weigh-in - looked razor-sharp across the six rounder and dominated throughout to win 60-54.

In his fifth professional fight since signing up with AJ Boxing, light heavyweight Buatsi had Grafka on the floor in the first round but the ref rightly judged it to be a slip.

The Ghana-born ace was totally dominant and was firing off one-twos and uppercuts with ease.

The 25-year-old always looked comfortable against his Polish opponent, who never looked like taking the shine off of his night on the AJ vs Joseph Parker undercard.

Buatsi was tagged at the very end of the second round but the South Londoner was not wobbled and just proved that a solid chin was another part of his arsenal.

It did not look like Grafka would go the distance with blood pouring from his face at the halfway point but he was determined beyond belief.

The 29-year-old went into the fight with 20 wins and 28 losses and even Buatsi seemed to lose the will to punish him as the fight entered the fourth.

Buatsi took the fight into the pocket to show-off his skills, staying in range so almost every shot he threw thudded into Grafka’s face and ribs.

In between rounds, the AJ protege even ignored his stool and stood up to demonstrate how easy he was finding the evening’s work in Cardiff.

A fifth-round uppercut had Grafka in trouble but the granite-chinned contender somehow stayed upright for the final few seconds.

In the final round, as Buatsi looked like being taken the distance for the second time in his young career, he stepped the pressure up again but the Grafka was too proud to duck out.
