But Bruno, 56, insists he is not advocating the same approach to anyone else who struggles with similar issues
FRANK BRUNO reveals he has been "medication-free" for three years.
The boxing legend has suffered from mental health issues in the past and was sectioned in 2003 and then twice in 2012.
Bruno seems to be back on the up – but insists he is not advocating a medication-free approach for anyone else who struggles with similar issues.
The former WBC heavyweight champion told : "It’s the best I’ve ever felt. I’ve been medication-free for three years."
Bruno then wrote on social media that he isn’t using medication because he adopting a healthy lifestyle and a positive outlook has done the trick.
He explained: "I’ve noticed through the article that 'I’ve been medication free for three years' that some comments have been that I could be seen as advocating no medication. This is not so.

"What works for one may not another and I completely accept that some people can’t be without medication.
"For me personally I had to address the ongoing issues around me and make changes in my life, my way of sustaining my mental health has been through a healthier lifestyle, positivity and good people.
"I hope by sharing my story it gives hope to others that even after being sectioned you CAN get back on track, again sadly I understand not everyone...
"I can honestly say this is the best I’ve felt for a long time and my way works for ME."
