Frank Warren confirms Carl Frampton will fight Josh Warrington after beating Luke Jackson at Windsor Park

World champ Warrington was ringside at Windsor Park as he watched his stablemate see off Aussie underdog Jackson.

Both boxers are promoted by Frank Warren, who has said he is keen to get the two together with the IBF belt on the line.

Warrington stunned the division back in May when he outpointed Lee Selby at his beloved Elland Road, home of Leeds United.

Now he looks to be on a collision course with former two-weight world champ Frampton.

Frampton simply looked more machine like against Jackson. He was on the front foot in the first, looking for that big over-hand right, rocking Jackson back numerous times.

The second and third were comfortable for Frampton, barring the cut he acquired by his right eye from what appeared to be an accidental clash of heads.

Frampton was actually landing his best shots in the fourth when exploiting Jackson’s wild lunges forward.

Time and time again he tagged the Aussie, demonstrating those “levels” he talked about pre-fight.

The fifth saw The Jackal concentrate on Jackson body. Time and again he thundered rights and lefts to the rib-cage, with Jackson definitely feeling the pain.

Jackson was sagging all over the place in the sixth, but Frampton, after delivering some crushing uppercuts, opted to conserve his energy.

One in particular had the underdog glancing over to his corner, almost as if to ask whether his journey to the UK was worth it.

The seventh and eighth were painful to watch at times, and Jackson hit the deck in the eighth after a crippling left to the bread basket from Framptont. Amazingly he got right back up and lasted the round.

And it was all over in the ninth.

Frampton landed a beautiful combination with Jackson’s head rolling all over the place, and the towel was launched in by the gallant Aussie’s corner.

Frampton had backed up that he was levels above what Jackson could bring to the squared circle.
