FEROCIOUS FURY

Tommy Fury wins pro debut with points victory against woeful opponent in Manchester

The brother of Tyson kicked of his professional career with a ? win against Jevgenijs Andrejevs

TOMMY FURY is ready to prove he belongs in a boxing ring and not on Love Island.

The younger brother of returning hero Tyson Fury got the job done in his first professional fight against Jevgenijs Andrejevs at the Manchester Arena.

It was hardly surprising he got a shutout four-round points victory against a boxer with 102 defeats and only ten wins.

The Latvian was plain and simple in there to survive, barely throwing a meaningful punch. But at least he bobbed and weaved to help Fury showcase his angles.

With the occasional look towards dad John who was bellowing out instructions from his spot behind the pres seats, it was a comfortable night’s work.

His coach and former welterweight world champ Ricky Hatton quipped that the 19-year-old looks like he should be on the hit ITV reality show.

But aside from the bulging biceps, six-to-eight pack and movie-star good looks is a hunger to bring more success to a fighting family.

Tommy was in Dusseldorf on that glorious night in 2015 when Tyson shocked the world by defeating heavyweight legend Wladimir Klitschko.

He even got to hold the world titles backstage that the Gypsy King won that night.

And it gave Tommy, who only had 12 amateur fights, the desire to follow his big bro into the professional circuit.

But he is adamant he is ready to put in the hard yards to make his own way through the light-heavyweight division.

He said: “I am here to make my own name. I don’t want to be known as someone’s brother.

"I want people to watch me because I am a fighter on my own merit and not because of who I am related to.

“My aim is to make fans turn out for me and not for my name.”

While Tyson was being robbed of a points win and the WBC belt against Deontay Wilder out in Los Angeles, Tommy was preparing for his boxing debut.

If he shows that professionalism, mixed with heart like his brother, who knows how far the hulking hunk can go.
