KUBRAT PULEV has refused to apologise despite a huge backlash over him forcefully kissing a female reporter on the lips during an interview.
The Bulgarian, the No1-ranked contender to Anthony Joshua's IBF belt, underlined his credentials at the weekend with a KO win over Bogdan Dinu.
But his post-fight antics drew criticism as he kissed Jenny Sushe as she spoke to him about the fight.
However defiant Pulev, 37, said: “You may have seen a clip of me kissing a female reporter following an interview after I won my fight Saturday night.
“The reporter, Jenny, is actually a friend of mine, and after the interview, I was so elated, I gave her a kiss.
“Later that night, she joined me and my other friends at my post-fight celebration.
"On the video, after our kiss, we both laughed about it and thanked each other. There really is nothing more to this.”
With blood pouring from a cut on his face sustained in the fight, Pulev was asked if he deserved a shot at Tyson Fury.
He replied "yes" before putting his hand Sushe's chin and kissing her on the lips.
The unsuspecting interviewer awkwardly laughed it off but
Furious fans on social media have called for her to press charges on the puncher, who was forced to pull out of a bout against Joshua in 2017.
One said: "Very weird guy. The whole interview he was very creepy. She should press charges."
While one Twitter user said: "That's got to be one of the most disgusting things I've seen in ages."
