Tyson Fury admits to watching brother Tommy chasing girls on Love Island and says show will ‘elevate his career’
TYSON FURY believes brother Tommy made the right call going on Love Island as it will help “elevate his career”.
Tommy temporarily put his ring career on hold as he entered the reality TV show last week.
Speaking to the ex-heavyweight champion Fury, 30, revealed he has been watching the hit ITV show and believes his brother’s new found fame is “good for him”.
Fury said: “Boxing is a popularity contest and you need to sell tickets.
“It will elevate his career. Since Tommy’s been on there, he’s already got half a million followers on social media.
“It’s good for him. I’m very happy for him. He’s doing it on his own, fair play.”
Tommy had beaten Jevgenijs Andrejevs and Callum Ide before joining the reality TV show, with Brit boxing legend Ricky Hatton training the 20-year-old.
Frank Warren, who promotes both Furys, echoed the Gypsy King, explaining Love Island will help Tommy build a name for himself away from his famous brother.
Warren told BBC Sport: "He is going to step out of Tyson's shadow, that's for sure as far as recognition is concerned.
"The British public will certainly know who he is, it's been great for his profile.

"If he continues to box - and I hope he does - it will improve his profile, then he becomes more of an attraction, sells more tickets, there is more awareness about him and that is great for any promotion.
"It's great for boxing. For me, anything that can get more eyeballs to boxing is brilliant for our sport.
“It seems like good fun, obviously a programme that is watched a lot by youngsters and brings a new generation to the sport."
