Deontay Wilder promises 2020 Tyson Fury rematch will be even better than the first
DEONTAY WILDER believes his 2020 rematch with Tyson Fury will be even more brilliant than the first instalment.
The giant pair fought out a draw for the Bronze Bomber’s WBC world heavyweight title at LA’s Staples Center on December 1 last year.
Fury boxed superbly only to be floored in the 9th and 12th rounds before a remarkable resurrection in the bout’s final moments.
Wilder has a rematch with Cuba’s 40-year-old Luis Ortiz in November before a rerun with the 6ft 9in Gypsy King — and the wannabe actor has promised a thrilling sequel.
The 6ft 7in Yank said: “I never go in feeling like I have to knock anyone out. I don’t want to put that added pressure on myself.
“I don’t want to start that ‘I have to knock him out’ rumour or energy in my head. A win is a win, whether it is pretty or ugly.
“I don’t regret not getting the finish, it was a controversial fight and controversy sells.
“It was a good fight the first time and it will be even better the second time.”
Referee Jack Reiss was accused by Wilder’s fans of giving Fury a slow count and added recovery time after he was dropped in the final round.

And the outspoken father-of-five insisted his youngest could have correctly counted the Brit, 30, out.
Wilder, 33, said: “I strongly feel I knocked him out but the referee said he let him continue out of the “spirit of boxing” rather than the rules.
"I don’t understand that because his job was a simple one, my one-year-old child could do it, he just had to count to ten.”
Wilder, who shares US manager Al Haymon with unified champion and Anthony Joshua’s slayer Andy Ruiz, has warned the fallen British hero against agreeing to an instant rematch with the quick-handed, California-based Mexican.
If AJ cannot agree a rerun with 19st Ruiz — with the location still up in the air — Wilder will look to steal in and face the champ.
That would see all the belts go back to America and crush Joshua’s chances of regaining them soon.

Wilder added: “I have given the people the fights they want and I am coming back for two more monsters in Ortiz and Fury.
“I am looking through Ortiz and window shopping, I am waiting on Ortiz to be finalised, I will knock him out and then get it on with Fury early next year.
“But if Ruiz and Joshua don’t take the rematch, then I would jump in and do the undisputed fight.”
