Jose Luis Castillo’s son Christian fighting for his life in hospital after sparring session
BOXER Christian Castillo, the son of ex-world lightweight champion Jose Luis Castillo, is fighting for his life after a sparring session.
say "further complications" with Castillo Jr's condition were found after he was taken to hospital.
Boxing is currently mourning the deaths of Russian lightweight Maxim Dadashev, 28, and 23-year-old Argentine Hugo Santillan.
Promising Mexican Castillo Jr was preparing for his third fight - on the same bill as brother Jose - when the shocking incident happened.
He was reported to still be in a serious condition and was moved to another hospital after catching pneumonia.
His famous dad, now, 45, fought for 24 years, twice lifting the world crown and losing to British legend Ricky Hatton in 2007.
Jose Sr's same-named son immediately pulled out of his own fight last Friday due to his brother's situation.

“He was even more complicated by infectious pneumonia he captured.
"It was a critical moment so we had to move him to another hospital."
He explained the "stressful and overwhelming" developments meant he called off his bout on a bill where his brother had also been due to fight.
Jose Jr withdrew "not for fear of me going to win, or fear of my opponent, but if for all the whirlwind of things that wouldn’t let me be 50 per cent focused for my fight.

He even apologised to fans who had bought tickets and promised them: "There will be another time with a better situation."
