Frank Warren fears Fury vs Wilder 2 could be ‘pushed back’ due to horror gash suffered by Otto Wallin
FRANK WARREN has raised concerns that Tyson Fury's nasty cut has put his highly-anticipated February rematch with Deontay Wilder in jeopardy.
The Gypsy King was taken to hospital following his points win over Otto Wallin after being handed an almighty scare in the third round.
Fury's reputation was on the line when he suffered a huge gash above his right eye.
Blood streamed down his face and even heavyweight legend Lennox Lewis claimed the star of the night was Fury's cutman.
The two-inch gash threw his match against Wilder in doubt because he won't be able to prepare properly until it heals.
And promoter Warren says the rematch in February could be put back.
He told BBC's Five Live: "If it doesn't heal well the fight may have to be pushed back.
“Hopefully that will not be the case. It depends how it heals, if it's OK it won't be a problem.
"It's not just the fight, it's the training and sparring. He has to be 100% right."
Warren has changed his tune the morning after the night before sparking suggestions the cut is worse than first feared.
He had initially told Boxing Social: "Well, that’s five months away, he’s got to get it stitched first and see what happens.

"But the bottom line of that is, the commission doctor I spoke to, he said – although the cuts are deep – they’re not hard to sew.
“It wasn’t jagged or anything, they were straight splits into the muscle and so forth. So he said they should heal pretty well.
“It doesn’t affect his standing – how can it? He won the fight! And as I say, he won it with a serious injury.”
