Bradley Wiggins mystery solved: Dave Brailsford finally reveals the ‘mysterious package’ contained decongestant Fluimucil
SIR DAVID BRAILSFORD finally made public what was in the mystery package that was flown out to Sir Bradley Wiggins.
But Team Sky’s chief, ex-Tour de France winner Wiggins, 36, and cycling still face questions about the saga that tainted the sport.
Brailsford claimed a legal decongestant was in the Jiffy bag taken to France in 2011 after Wiggins won the Criterium du Dauphine.

And Brailsford told MPs he was informed by then-team doctor Richard Freeman that the package contained fluimucil — not on Wada’s banned list.
Shane Sutton, then Sky’s coach, stated Freeman had asked for the drug to be sent and the doctor administered it to Wiggins. But inconsistencies emerged in the hearing and Brailsford and British Cycling bosses must produce a paper trail to confirm their story.
Brailsford was asked why he did not clear up the confusion sooner. He said: “I’ve looked at myself long and hard and thought about how I handled the situation.”
Sutton said: “There’s no wrongdoing. I would put my life on Wiggins. Sky’s the cleanest team in the world.”
