AC Milan rejected the chance to sign Chelsea star Tammy Abraham this summer because they thought he wasn’t good enough
AC MILAN reportedly rejected the chance to sign Chelsea star Tammy Abraham this summer, thinking he was not up to the level required.
The Blues hitman spent last season out on loan with Aston Villa, netting an impressive 26 goals for the Championship outfit.
Abraham, 21, only has one full Premier League season under his belt.
He bagged five Prem goals for Swansea in the 2017/18 campaign as the Swans suffered relegation.
With Chelsea under a transfer ban this summer and Frank Lampard coming in, though, Abraham was propelled into the first team at Stamford Bridge.
And the England Under-21 international has shown his class already.
His seven goals are only bettered by Sergio Aguero so far and he netted his first Blues hat-trick in the 5-2 win at Wolves.
Jurgen Klopp reckons the striker is now worth £60million while Stamford Bridge legend Didier Drogba revealed the youngster "learned from him" in his youth.
And the Milan board may be regretting their decision to go after Abraham.
The Rossoneri are 11th in Serie A with two wins and two defeats so far this term.
But most alarmingly, from their four matches, they have managed just two goals.
Hakan Calhanoglu scored the only goal of the game against Brescia before Krzysztof Piatek's penalty proved the difference against Verona.
