Man Utd transfer target Gianluigi Donnarumma ‘rejects new £5.35m-a-year AC Milan contract’
GIANLUIGI DONNARUMMA has reportedly rejected a new £5.3million-a-year deal with AC Milan.
Manchester United were among the clubs interested in the Italian goalkeeper during the summer transfer window.
Marco Giampaolo's side are keen to tie the Italian down with a new deal before his contract expires at the end of next season.
But the report claims that the two-year offer was deemed unacceptable by Raiola.
Donnarumma emerged as a top target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side this summer.
The Red Devils were desperate to sign a replacement for David De Gea - but the Spaniard has now penned a new £73million deal.
It was reported in the summer that AC Milan would demand at least £49million for the 14-cap Italy international.
Arsenal were also reportedly linked to Donnarumma to replace retiring Petr Cech.
Paris Saint-Germain could also reignite their interest in the youngster if he does not commit his future to AC Milan.
The French champions were allegedly close to completing a £54million deal for him in the summer, but the move failed to materialise.
The 20-year-old has been touted as one of the best goalkeepers in the world after breaking into the Milan and Italy team.
But he has been struggling to impress in Serie A this season following AC Milan's shocking start to the campaign.
They have picked up just six points from their opening six league games - leaving them slumped at sixteenth in the table.
