RED REDEMPTION

Arsenal fans still love Gnabry after Bayern Munich star declares ‘North London is RED’ after crushing Spurs

SERGE GNABRY took one final shot at Spurs after his stunning performance – declaring: “North London is RED”.

The Bayern Munich winger made a sensational return to the capital, scoring FOUR at Tottenham’s new ground as Bayern Munich run riot.

The former Arsenal man had a night to remember as the German giants obliterated Tottenham 7-2 at Spurs’ new ground.

And then Gnabry, 24, took to Twitter to rub it in even more.

After a miserable spell on loan at West Brom – where Tony Pulis deemed him not good enough – Arsenal decided to let the young talent join Werder Bremen for a paltry £5million in 2016.

Since then, he has shone in the Bundesliga and was named Bayern’s player of the season last term.

The winger, 24, is now one of the best in the business and enjoyed a masterclass against Tottenham.

Arsenal fans could not believe they let him go – especially for such a low fee and with the club spending £72m on Nicolas Pepe, who has failed to shine just yet.

And plenty replied to Gnabry’s tweet to show how fond they are of their former prodigy.

One wrote on Twitter: “I love you so much.”

Another said: “Yes it is, Serge. Yes it is.”

A third asked: “Where do you want your statue Serge?”

And a final user added: “Once a Gooner Always a Gooner”

Bayern Munich even got in on the banter – as they often do with their Twitter account – and joked: “So nice to be back in North London with loads of Arsenal fans in our notifications.”

But it was not all good news for Gnabry – as he was brutally bullied by his team-mates after the full-time whistle.

Serge Gnabry proved Arsenal should not have let him go as he smashed four past helpless Spurs then declared: ‘North London is RED’

Defender Niklas Sule jokingly slide tackled the winger, tripping him up in front of the celebrating Bayern fans.

And then Javi Martinez booted the match ball – won by Gnabry for his four-goal haul – into the stand.

After a clip of the incident was posted online, one Arsenal fan replied: “Come home, we’ll take better care of you @Serge Gnabry @Arsenal.”
