SERGE GNABRY'S hopes of taking home his deserved hat-trick ball were dashed last night after team-mate Javi Martinez cruelly booted it into the crowd.
The Bayern Munich superstar bagged four second half goals as the German champions embarrassed Spurs on their own patch in a 7-2 victory.
His memorable night was made even sweeter considering he was once formerly of rivals Arsenal.
The 24-year-old was lapping up the praise in front of the travelling fans after the game with his team-mates.
And as he headed to pick up his match ball as a souvenir of his career highlight, Martinez blasted it into the stands.
Gnabry was left in disbelief but took it in good humour as he stood and shrugged his shoulders with a big grin on his face.
He attempted to gesture to the supporters to throw it back but then appeared resigned to losing it.
Martinez wasn't the only team-mate to wind him up after the game with defender Niklas Sule leaving him in a heap on the floor after he tried to slide tackle him.
After a clip of the incident was posted online, one Arsenal fan replied: "Come home, we'll take better care of you @Serge Gnabry @Arsenal."

While another joked: "In all seriousness, shouldn't he be booked for that tackle? Not 100 per cent sure on the rules but the ball is nowhere to be seen when he makes that tackle?"
One Twitter user said: "Please tell me the fans gave him the ball back."
Gnabry couldn't resist further winding up Tottenham after the contest by tweeting: "North London is red."
