Serge Gnabry just the 11th player in history to get 10/10 L’Equipe rating after Bayern Munich star’s glittering performance against Spurs
SERGE GNABRY has joined an illustrious list after his stunning performance for Bayern Munich.
The ex-Arsenal man scored FOUR times to help the Germans to a 7-2 thrashing of Tottenham in their Champions League clash.
And it led to French newspaper L'Equipe, notoriously harsh with their player ratings, awarding him a 10/10 for his performance.
Gnabry, 24, becomes one of only 11 players to be awarded the top marks. Not bad for a player binned by Arsenal without ever really being given a chance.
Even then West Brom boss Tony Pulis didn't take to him when he went on loan to the Hawthorns from the Gunners.
Former French internationals Franck Sauzee and Bruno Martini were the first pair to reach that peak back in 1988.
They both played in their country's U21 Championship final triumph against Greece that year.
MESSI IN THERE... TWICE
Next was Russia star Oleg Salenko in 1994 for smacking five goals for his country against Cameroon at the US World Cup.
Aarhus goalkeeper Lars Windfeld was awarded a ten for his stunning 1997 performance against Nantes in the Uefa Cup knockout stages.
Unsurprisingly Barcelona star and arguably the greatest footballer of all time, Lionel Messi, makes the list.
He was awarded top marks for scoring all four goals in his side's 4-1 home win against Arsenal in the 2010 Champions League.
Just two years later he went one better and scored FIVE times for Barca in their 7-1 Champions League thrashing of Bayer Leverkusen.
EX-SAINT MAKES LIST
Robert Lewandowski hit the same heights when he netted four times for Borussia Dortmund against Real Madrid in the 2013 Champions League.
Somewhat unknown Carlos Eduardo also makes the list for his stunning performance for Nice against Guingamp in 2014.
He scored five goals in a 7-2 slaughtering.
Brazilian star Neymar was awarded the top score in 2018 when he bagged four goals and two assist for PSG in an 8-0 thrashing of Dijon.
Unfancied Ajax made everyone sit up and take notice in their incredible Champions League run last season.

And Dusan Tadic, once of Southampton, was one of the stars of the show, scoring a perfect ten in the Dutch champs' 4-1 rout of Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
But their journey came to an end in the semi-finals - thanks in no part to Lucas Moura's second half hat-trick in the second leg, including the 96th minute winner. He bagged the 10/10.
And now Gnabry takes his place in L'Equipe's best ever performances - how Arsenal and West Brom must be smarting.
