Ozil’s Arsenal future in doubt as Emery leaves out his £350,000-a-week flop from the squad for the third successive game

MESUT OZIL'S Arsenal future has been plunged into further doubt after Unai Emery left out the German for the third week in a row.

The 30-year-old has been frozen out at the Emirates this season despite rejecting the suggestion from the club that he could leave on loan last summer.

The midfielder has made just two starts so far during the current campaign as boss Emery ignores the fact he is the highest-paid player at Arsenal on £350,000-a-week.

After he again failed to even make the bench for the Europa League win over Standard Liege, Emery told his out of favour superstar that he does not deserve to be starting.

And it seems Ozil has done little to change the Spaniard's mind, after he was omitted from the Gunners matchday squad for the game against Bournemouth.

The former Real Madrid star is not thought to be injured as he trained with the rest of the first-team squad on Saturday ahead of the home clash.

Meanwhile, Emery opted to start huge talent Bukayo Saka against the Cherries, after he earned an assist in his first league start against Manchester United.

Speaking to Sky Sports before the game, Emery said: "We are playing a lot of matches."On Monday we played some players and on Thursday we played others, but really we were happy with those who played in each match.

"Today we decided tactically [the best] eleven to impose our game plan. ‘But if I could change one player for another I would have the same confidence in that player."

Ozil meanwhile has attempted to bounce back from the armed attack he suffered along with team-mate Sead Kolasinac at the start of the season.

That understandably left the Germany star distressed, while he has also been struck by a couple of niggling injuries.

But even when fit he has not been able to gain the trust of his manager, who last season voiced concerns over Ozil's ability to fit into his way of playing.

His appearances this season have been limited to a start in the Premier League draw against Watford which saw him substituted on 71 minutes.

And the only other was in the 5-0 Carabao Cup win at home to Nottingham Forest, when he was again brought off on 71 minutes.
