Kazakhstan 0 Belgium 2: Batshuayi makes another statement to Chelsea boss Lampard as he scores in Euro 2020 qualifier
MICHY BATSHUAYI sent Chelsea boss Frank Lampard a message as he scored in Belgium's Euro 2020 qualifying win over Kazakhstan.
The Chelsea forward, 26, started alongside Eden Hazard and Dries Mertens in attack - and opened the scoring for Belgium in their comprehensive win.
Thomas Meunier doubled the visitors' lead in the second-half as the Belgians make it eight wins out of eight in qualifying.
Roberto Martinez's side had already booked their place in the tournament proper next summer.
But despite that, he named a strong side including Hazard, Batshuayi, Mertens, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, Thibaut Courtois and Axel Witsel.
And it didn't take long for the heavy favourites to take the lead, as Batshuayi kept up his electric form for Belgium in Kazakhstan.
The Blues ace made it four goals in five games for his country as he prodded home an inviting ball from Dennis Praet.
Meunier made it 2-0 early in the second-half as Belgium strolled to another three points to maintain their 100 per cent record, conceding just once all campaign.
Martinez and Co will finish their qualifying campaign next month as they travel to Russia before hosting Cyprus.
And Batshuayi will be hoping to show Chelsea boss Lampard what he can do at Stamford Bridge in the meantime.
