A Hearts statement read: "The club is aware of the incident in question and is currently investigating it.

"It goes without saying that Heart of Midlothian Football Club utterly condemns any form of racism and any individuals found guilty of such an offence will face an indefinite ban from Tynecastle Park."

Morelos equalised after Ryotaro Meshino opened the scoring for Hearts.

Both teams failed to find a winner meaning Rangers missed out on the chance to go top of the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic are at the summit on goal difference after their 6-0 thumping of Ross County yesterday.

The alleged abuse incident comes a day after Haringey Borough players walked off as two of their players were racially abused by Yeovil Town fans in an FA Cup fourth qualifying round  match.

It also comes less than a week after Raheem Sterling, Tyrone Mings and Marcus Rashford were racially abused while playing for England in Bulgaria.
