Real Madrid plan £85m plus Gareth Bale deal to get Man Utd star Paul Pogba
REAL MADRID are reportedly planning a mega £85million plus Gareth Bale deal to tempt Manchester United into selling Paul Pogba.
Spanish sports media website Eldesmarque claim Zinedine Zidane has come up with the 100 million euros offer as he desperately wants his fellow countryman at the Bernabeu.
Zidane and Real chief Florentino Perez have been at loggerheads this past six months as the boss wants Pogba but the president is after a cheap deal for Tottenham's Christian Eriksen in January.
Real spent most of the summer chasing Pogba.
But ultimately United's £180m valuation was too high for the Spanish giants, who spent big on Chelsea's Eden Hazard.
Now, knowing United have had trouble finding goals this season, Zidane has come up with a master plan and will also get rid of a player he has not seen eye-to-eye with from day one.
Bale was set to move to Chinese Super League club last summer but this deal - which would have earned the Welshman an astonishing £1m a week at Jiangsu Suning - was cancelled by Perez.
But now the president is said to be ready to let Zidane get his own way and use Bale to land Pogba.
Bale, 30, had started to play regularly for Los Blancos this season.
But Zidane is still unhappy with the Welshman's contributions - he has only scored in one match - and knows United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would jump at the chance of recruiting such a big signing.
This could be the last throw of the dice for Zidane, however, with Perez' patience wearing thin and the side struggling in the Champions League.
Pogba, 26, has been out injured at United and his contract ends in 2021.
Solskjaer needs to strengthen in other areas so could get a solution to his striking problems by landing a player who cost Real £86m from Spurs in 2013.
He could then use the extra cash to bring in either another striker or a centre-half.
United have a history of having top, top Welshmen - with Mark Hughes and Ryan Giggs lighting up Old Trafford.
United also recruited Bale's Wales team-mate Dan James for an initial £15m from Swansea in the summer.
