Gotze suffers hairline fracture in his arm and ligament injury in his wrist – but amazingly declares himself fit to play
BORUSSIA DORTMUND star Mario Gotze has revealed he will play tomorrow night despite having his arm in a cast.
The midfielder shared a photo of him showing off the war wounds on Instagram.
Managing to raise a thumb on the afflicted limb, the 27-year old wrote: "I have suffered a hairline fracture in the ulna and a stretched ligament in the left wrist.
"Nevertheless I can still play tomorrow.
"We have to fight to reach the next round in the @dfb_pokal."
Gotze was injured in Dortmund's 0-0 draw away at Schalke at the weekend.
After being replaced on 58 minutes by former Chelsea player Thorgan Hazard, Gotze was sent to hospital for scans.
It revealed two injuries to his arm - but the club released a statement refusing to rule him out of the Monchengladbach game.
And now seemingly the player himself is ready to go.
Lucien Favre's men will need all the help they can get.
Dortmund have won just twice in their last eight games, while Monchengladbach have surprised many and sit top of the Bundesliga.
