Gary Lineker declares war on VAR as he reacts with fury to ‘absurd’ system after horror Sheff Utd decision
GARY LINEKER furiously declared war on VAR, calling the system "absurd" after another horrific decision during Sheffield United's draw with Tottenham.
The pundit, 58, was left seething after John Lundstram was deemed to be offside as the Blades had a goal ruled out at Spurs.
The red-hot former Everton midfielder had little more than a toenail beyond the last defender, with David McGoldrick's goal - what would have been an equaliser at the time - chalked off.
Lineker tweeted: "VAR at its absurd worst rules out a @SheffieldUnited equaliser for offside which is impossible to see one way or the other.
"WTF are they doing to our game?
"If you can’t see an error in 30 seconds of replays then it’s not a howler, so stick with the referees decision. Sorted."
Later in the day, Lineker was back pounding the keyboard questioning the decision to not award Caglar Soyuncu a penalty during Leicester's 2-0 win over Arsenal.
He sarcastically wrote: "One replay was enough to see that that was a penalty on Soyuncu.
"Not given, of course, but they’ll spend 3 minutes playing with their silly offside lines to try and rule out goals. Weird."
The official Premier League then attempted to justify the bonkers offside call on Lundstram - with Lineker left absolutely seething.

He quote-retweeted the post, saying: "This proves nothing. Stop trying to justify these absurdities."
One Twitter user replied to his tirade, saying: "The fact is the frame speed on the video cannot accurately differ on marginal decisions like this."
And Lineker concurred, saying: "Exactly, and they should stop pretending otherwise."
