MOISE KEAN was axed from Everton's squad for Saturday's 2-1 win at Southampton by Marco Silva after missing a team meeting for the second time this season.

The teenager, a £27m signing from Juventus, was forced to travel with the Toffees to St Mary's but was not part of the matchday 18 following a breach of club rules.

The 19-year-old was similarly excluded from Italy's squad for Euro 2020 qualifiers against Armenia and Finland in September after also arriving late for a team meeting at last summer's under-21 Euros.

He has barely featured under Everton boss Silva, who described his absence from the win at Southampton as "just a decision".

Kean has since apologised to boss manager and teammates, and Everton are thought to be considering the issue put to bed.

But it continues a rough start for the youngster since his move to Merseyside, having only started two Premier League games and is yet score a goal.

Kean was also hooked at half-time in the 2-0 Carabao Cup win against Watford at Goodison Park and last played in the victory over West Ham on October 19.

He also faced harsh criticisms of his character by Graeme Souness earlier this season when he suggested the striker caused off-field problems at Juventus.

Speaking on Sky Sports, the Liverpool legend said: “At 19, why have they sold him.

“Personally, slight alarm bells are going off in my head. Juventus are arguably the biggest club in Italy, the wealthiest club in Italy.

"Given that they’ve got an older strike force, you’re selling a 19-year-old who won’t be hurting you wage-wise, they’ve not got £100million plus for him, so I think there must be other issues there.

“Do they have a buy-back clause, Juve? Because if they’ve not got that, that would tell you they’re happy to see him out the door then. At 19, it doesn’t make any common sense if you’re Juventus.

"Itis as if they're saying "we don't care how good he is going to be, you can take him" which would suggest off-the-field activities are not the best.

"It's a bit like Emmanuel Adebayor (at Arsenal), he was 25, just about to enter his best years and Arsene Wenger sold him to Manchester City.

"Right away you're thinking, "he's not selling him because he's not a good football player, it is because there is something not quite right about him".

"That was a boy who had all the talent you could ever wish for but didn't do it."
