David Beckham’s MLS side Inter Miami will play first home game against Man Utd legend’s former side LA Galaxy in March
DAVID BECKHAM'S American club Inter Miami will play their first home match in Major League Soccer against former side LA Galaxay.
Beckham is currently preparing for Inter's maiden season as an MLS franchise which begins next February.
With building work still being carried on their new 18,000-seat ground in Fort Lauderdale, league officials have given them clearance to pay the opening couple of weeks away from home.
But the club have today announced they already know their opponents in their opening match at home - LA Galaxy on Martch 14 next year.
By that time the club could have appointed former Real Madrid boss Santiago Solari as their new manager.
Inter Miami's chief business officer Jurgen Mainka said: “What we are bringing to South Florida on March 14 is a club that unites fans and visitors from all over the world together for the love of the game.
“This is a historic day that our community has waited for, and we look forward to experiencing it together.”
Beckham and his ownership consortium are building a new ground on the site of the old Miami Fusion home venue, the Lockhart Stadium.
They are due to play there for two seasons wheile construction work is carried out developing their £750million new home in downtown Miami.
The smaller venue will then be transformed into a training complex.

The former Manchester United star is moving into ownership, part of the deal he struck with MLS when he first signed for Galaxy in 2007.
That gave him the right to start an expansion side in the league, which he took up six years ago when he announced Miami would be the host city.
On top of being one of the owners, Beckham has also been handed the title as the president of soccer operations.
