MANCHESTER UNITED are hoping to get Paul Pogba back from injury for the derby in three weeks.

The World Cup winner has been sidelined since September in the 1-1 draw with Arsenal at Old Trafford.

He had suffered the right ankle problem earlier that month though, missing two games in the process.

Pogba has been working with United’s conditioners at their Carrington training complex as part of his rehabilitation.

The French midfielder had his cast removed earlier this week, in the latest part of his comeback.

And it is understood the plan is for him to return to face Manchester City at the Etihad on December 7.

The 26-year-old is expected to resume training next Tuesday and will take part in a practice game with the youth team shortly after.

A United insider said: “Ole wants to reintroduce him off the bench in the game if at all possible.

“He has kept himself pretty fit in terms of his core fitness. He’s always in top shape, to be honest.”

Pogba posted a video on Instagram of his cast being removed on Monday, and looked in good spirits.

He has been working out in Dubai’s 37°C heat for the past month to rest and recuperate from injury.

Meanwhile, United confirmed Scott McTominay pulled out the Scotland squad for their upcoming games with an ankle problem.
