David Beckham gets Inter Miami tips from Ajax CEO and Man Utd legend Van der Sar with Gary and Phil Neville
INTER MIAMI boss David Beckham was given tips on running a football club by fellow Manchester United legend and Ajax CEO Edwin van Der Sar.
Beckham - who will launch the brand new MLS side in the 2020 season - was joined by former team-mates Gary and Phil Neville as they visited Amsterdam.
The trio were given a lecture on the “philosophy about developing players” by Ajax bosses.
Eredivisie giants Ajax have have had the likes of Johan Cruyff and Dennis Bergkamp and most recently Frenkie De Jong and Matthijs de Ligt come through their ranks.
They've also seen legends including Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Luis Suarez play for the club early in their career.
Both the Neville brothers co-own League Two side Salford along with Beckham, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs.
But ex-LA Galaxy superstar Becks has his full attention of developing his Inter Miami side.
SunSport revealed the 44-year-old has been picking up the phone and pleading with players to help him realise his MLS dream.
Becks is in constant contact with Miami sporting director Paul McDonough who has been blown away by the former England skipper’s openness and ability to speak to any club on the planet.
Their first game, at the new home in Fort Lauderdale, will be on March 14th against Beckham’s former team, LA Galaxy.
