Michy Batshuayi still struggles for consistency while Olivier Giroud looks a shadow of his former self this season.

Both could well angle for loan or permanent moves after Christmas.

Chelsea are gearing up for a busy January after their transfer ban was lifted following a successful appeal.

reports that the club sent scouts to watch Werner and Dembele as they played for RB Leipzig and Lyon respectively.

The two sides drew 2-2, but Werner did score, from the penalty spot.

That took his tally to 20 goals in just 22 games in all competitions this season.

Dembele, meanwhile, started his youth career with Paris Saint-Germain before linking up with Fulham's academy in 2012.

He was surprisingly sold to Celtic in 2016, and went on to score 26 goals in 55 games earning a £20m move to Lyon.

Chelsea are now set to have at least £150million to spend in January with manager Frank Lampard reportedly identifying five potential targets.

As well as Werner and Dembele, Lampard has also said to have been keeping tabs on Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho and Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha.

While SunSport revealed in October that Bournemouth frontman Callum Wilson was also on the Blues' radar.
