ANDY CARROLL has admitted he "still s***s himself" whenever a motorbike overtakes after being chased by gunmen in 2016.
The Newcastle star, then at West Ham, was held up at gunpoint and forced to embark on a terrifying high-speed escape in his Jeep three years ago.
Carroll, 31, thought he recognised the biker when he pulled up alongside him at the traffic lights on November 2, 2016.
But after a quick chat, the robber's true intentions quickly became clear as he pulled out a gun and demanded he hand over his £22,000 watch.
The Geordie striker "clipped cars, raced through red lights, speed cameras and overtook on the wrong side of the road" to escape the crook - who had a second biker accomplice - while on the phone to the police.
Speaking to the , Carroll recalled: "You fear for your life. It was 25 minutes being chased by two bikes pulling guns out.
"I was nearly home, so I spun around and started driving back towards West Ham's training ground.
"I was driving down [the wrong side of] a dual carriageway and couldn't get back on the right side because of the railings.
"I was coming to a hill and cars are flying past me and I haven't got a clue what is on the other side, that's scary.
"I'm dodging cars and lorries are coming towards me. All the time these bikes are still with me. Thankfully, I made it back to the training ground."
There's two motorbikes, one's behind me pulling out a gun, I don't know what to do. Seriously, I can't slow down, he's got a gun. I've probably just hit about ten cars.
Andy Carroll's panicked call to police
And even now Carroll admits he still struggles to deal with the lingering fear, petrified his family may be targeted.

"Even now, when a bike drives past, I s*** myself to be honest.
"Because of the kids, it's everything, no matter where you go. Swimming? Panic. Park? Panic. Zoo? Panic. Where are they? What if this happens?"
The gunman was jailed for 11 years - six of which were for the horrific attempted robbery of Carroll, while five were for other offences.
