Arsenal ratings: Leno hands Chelsea win as Arteta loses first home game but Aubameyang and Ozil impress

ARSENAL crashed to defeat in Mikel Arteta's first home game in charge as Chelsea came from behind to win.

The Gunners had produced one of the best performances of the season in the first half as they went into the break a goal to the good through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

But a horror mistake from Bernd Leno gifted Chelsea and equaliser before Tammy Abraham stole all the points with a late winner.

SunSport's Duncan Wright gives his marks out of ten for Arsenal in a display which had plenty of positives but ultimately counted for nothing.

BERND LENO

Did well to grab Mount's early shot at the second attempt. But made a dreadful error as he came to collect Mount's free-kick only to miss the ball completely to allow Jorginho to equalise. 5

AINSLEY MAITLAND-NILES

So comfortable at right back as Chelsea struggled to find any impetus going forward down the left. Hardly put a fut wrong throughout the game and is more than worthy of a future under Arteta. 7

CALUM CHAMBERS

Won a crucial header at the front post to set up Aubameyang for the opening goal. Had started well but game was ended early by injury. 7

DAVID LUIZ

Opted not to try his luck with a bicycle-kick and get an early header in on goal and completely fluffed his effort. Reckless in a challenge on Kante and booked for a cheap shot on Willian but then produced a vital block to deny Abraham. 7

BUKAYO SAKA

Looked assured from the off as he continued playing at left-back, easily dealing with Mount or Willian when they came out wide. The Gunners have a real talent on their hands. 7

LUCAS TORREIRA

Worked tirelessly in midfield as Arsenal set about unsettling Chelsea from the off with their high-pressure game in midfield. But ran out of steam as the second half wore on and became more anonymous. 6

MATTEO GUENDOUZI

Rash foul on Willian earned a booking after just ten minutes to leave him on a tightrope for the remainder of the game. Chased hard but was unable to stop Chelsea gaining the upper hand as the game developed. 6

REISS NELSON

Made a bright start testing Tomori with his pace as he set about making an impression on the game. Maintained that positive approach throughout as he vindicated the selection from his manager ahead of Nicolas Pepe. 7

MESUT OZIL

Given the freedom to play in the whole, and started like a player with a point to prove, full of running and effort. Sharp on the pull in the first half, although faded as Arsenal tired in the last minutes before receiving a standing ovation as he was subbed. 7

PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG

Ghosted in behind Emerson to head the opening goal from close range. Led example as the campaign, looking threatening going forward but also putting in a huge shift chasing back defensively. 8

ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE

First touch let him down when Aubameyang looked to have set him up with a clear shot on goal. Worked hard but lacked the cutting edge he needed at the vital moment.

Did well enough, but stood off Abraham at the vital moment, allowing the Chelsea striker to surn and fire the Blues into the lead. 5
