Arsenal, Aston Villa, Sheffield United and Leeds among clubs in race to sign Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara
RANGERS face a fight to keep Glen Kamara this month after Sheffield United became the latest club to show interest in the midfielder.
Arsenal, Brighton Crystal Palace, Burnley, Aston Villa and Championship big guns Leeds are also amongst the clubs tracking the bargain- buy star.
Kamara has been a huge hit following his £50,000 switch from Dundee 12 months ago.
The Finnish international has established himself as a first-team regular under Steven Gerrard.
But his progress for club and country has not gone unnoticed with a host of admirers keen to tempt him back down south.
Blades boss Chris Wilder is a huge admirer and has dispatched scouts to a number of Rangers matches this term, including Sunday’s Old Firm victory.
Arsenal, the club where the 24-year-old started his career, were also in attendance at Parkhead at the weekend to run the rule over the Gers star.
Gerrard is bracing himself for January bids.
However, he has made it clear he does not want to lose Kamara.
The midfielder is under contract under 2023.
Gerrard is already making plans to hand him a new improved deal to make sure he isn’t tempted by any bids during the transfer window.
Meanwhile, Mexican club Atletico San Luis are in talks with Rangers to take over the contract of unwanted flop striker Eduardo Herrera.
The 31-year-old has been on loan with Necaxa for the past year, but the deal expired and he’s still got six months left of his Rangers deal.

Gerrard emphatically ruled out any hope the Mexican international had of earning an unlikely reprieve at Rangers, advising him to find himself a new club.
But Rangers may be handed a solution that suits both parties with Liga MX strugglers Atletico San Luis attempting to reach agreement with Herrera’s representatives and the Ibrox club.
Technical director, Guillermo Vázquez said: “We are talking with two players at the moment and their clubs and we hope to announce something soon for the second half of the season.”
