Man Utd rule out Christian Eriksen transfer in January – so they can land Tottenham star for FREE in summer
MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly ruled out a January swoop for wantaway Tottenham star Christian Eriksen.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have opted to hold out until the summer when they will be able to sign the 27-year-old for free.
According to Sky Sports, United are not willing to splash the cash for the Danish playmaker this month.
Eriksen will be a free agent when his contract with Jose Mourinho's side expires at the end of the season.
The Red Devils have been continuously linked with the 27-year-old after holding talks with him last summer.
United were said to be lining up a £20million move for the 94-cap Denmark international.

But Solskjaer has cooled his interest in the Tottenham star in the hope of bagging himself a bargain next summer.
The source suggests that Eriksen sees his future away from the Premier League.
Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Juventus are among the biggest clubs in Europe that are monitoring his situation.
The Italian giants would rather pay £20million for him now than risk losing him to a rival in the summer.
Eriksen has rejected offers of a new deal in excess of £200,000-per-week, but Mourinho still wants him to stay.
The Portuguese manager said: "If I was Jan [Vertonghen] or Christian, I would stay."
