MANCHESTER UNITED star Marcus Rashford was “impressed” with Mino Raiola after meeting the super-agent last year.
The Italian-born Dutch negotiator boasts a huge array of big-name clients from Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the Red Devils’ club-record signing Paul Pogba.
Raiola, 52, has become a hugely unpopular figure among the hierarchy at Old Trafford following his public outbursts against the club.
That includes his repeated comments expressing Pogba’s desire to leave the North West.
Raiola’s involvement in Erling Haaland’s recent move to Borussia Dortmund instead of United also strengthened the dislike towards him.
And that caused eyebrows to be raised when Jesse Lingard agreed to team up with the agent.
However, United will be relieved that their prized hotshot Rashford failed to be persuaded to join the ranks of Raiola’s clients.
The 22-year-old striker has been in red-hot form this campaign and already has 20 goals to his name for club and country.
That has led to interest from La Liga giants Barcelona – and Raiola is believed to have wanted a piece of the action.
claim Rashford’s two brothers Dwaine and Dane, who represent the England international through D N May Sports Management, had several introductory meetings with Raiola in 2019.

But conversations were believed to be more around a future partnership rather than a transfer to Barca.
And both parties were “left impressed by the other” but ultimately Rashford and his brothers declined the offer of assistance at that time.
United and boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still has a lot to ponder regarding the futures of Pogba and Lingard.
And when asked if any players will leave this month, he said: “Can’t say yes or no but wouldn’t expect many ins and outs, no.”
