HARRY MAGUIRE is set to be named Manchester United’s permanent skipper with Ashley Young on his way out.
Club captain Young, 34, wants to join Inter Milan this month.
The armband has been shared this season when Young was not in the Man Utd side, with Maguire often taking it.
Now the England star is going to be charged with leading Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team into the future.
And Maguire could be joined at Old Trafford by £55million-rated Portuguese star Bruno Fernandes. United are closing in on the midfielder, 25, after talks with Sporting Lisbon intensified yesterday.
Solskjaer watched Fernandes in Sporting’s defeat to Porto last Sunday.
Maguire’s leadership skills have come to the fore on and off the field.

Maguire, 26, tore a hip muscle in the first half of last Saturday’s 0-0 FA Cup draw against Wolves but carried on for the whole game.
He missed Tuesday’s Carabao Cup loss to Manchester City but returns today.
Ole said: “He’s a warrior and if there’s a minor problem he’ll put himself up to play.”
