Newcastle youngster Matty Longstaff a shock transfer target for AC and Inter Milan after breakthrough season

The homegrown starlet, who has scored two goals both home and away against Manchester United, can leave Newcastle for a bargain of £400,000 compensation fee now or at any point over the next six months.

In order for Steve Bruce to avoid such an occurrence, he will have to ensure a new deal is agreed - and fast.

Longstaff's brother Sean was linked with a move worth £50m to United in the summer, but rumours of an Old Trafford move proved a distraction.

Speaking to Newcastle's official website last year he said: "You can sometimes get distracted by the outside noise and maybe for a little bit in the summer I was a bit.

"It's hard not to, whenever you go anywhere you see your face on the front of a newspaper and you turn the telly on people are talking about you.

'"And it's not like they're talking about little things, they're talking about things that can change your left really'.'
