MANCHESTER UNITED target Donny van de Beek is reportedly on his way out of Ajax - to join Real Madrid.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been chasing the Dutch creator, but has lost out to the Spanish giants in the race for his signature.
The 22-year-old first entered Real Madrid's radar after impressing at the Bernabeu in Ajax's stunning Champions League round of 16 comeback last season.
And claim that Zinedine Zidane's side have agreed a £47million deal with Ajax for the blond-haired midfield maestro.
But the terms of the deal mean that van de Beek will remain in Amsterdam until the end of the season despite the deal being agreed now.
This is similar to the deal Ajax did with Barcelona for Frenkie de Jong last season - with the midfielder able to play a key role in the Dutch champions' Champions League run before making his move.
Real Madrid have been seeking to regenerate their squad, as the team that won three consecutive Champions Leagues begins to break up.
Van de Beek could be seen as a long-term successor to Luka Modric at the Bernabeu.
The move comes as a major blow to Manchester United, who had identified van de Beek as a player that could significantly improve their midfield.
Andreas Pereira and Fred have largely disappointed in the middle for Solskjaer this season - and van de Beek could have added a lot more goal threat and creativity.
