BARC-ING MAD

Barcelona braced for swap transfer deals ONLY with Coutinho and Dembele available after lockdown costs club £124m

BARCELONA vice-president Jordi Cardoner has claimed that the club will only be partaking in swap deals in the upcoming transfer window.

The 57-year-old has lifted the lid on how the club have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic with players' wages set to be slashed again despite the squad already accepting a 70 per cent cut.

, Cardoner has revealed how the Blaugrana have already lost around £124million due to being in lockdown as a result of the Covid-19 crisis.

After stating Barca would definitely make a loss this campaign, he said: "Because our base economic situation is a solid one, this will not affect us the same way as probably other clubs."

It has been claimed that the LaLiga giants would be willing to listen to offers for everyone in their squad, except for Lionel Messi and Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

SunSport have previously reported how both Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele could leave the club at the end of the season in swap deals.

And Cardoner has confirmed that Barca will partake in swapping players with no money involved in deals with other teams.

He declared: "It will be part of the game.

"This is the way things will happen for next season in European clubs."

Cardoner failed to state which players could be involved in any transactions, with ESPN claiming that Samuel Umtiti and Arthur are two big names that could be swapped.

Marta Ramon, Barcelona reporter for Catalan radio station RAC1, recently told SunSport: "It's perfectly true to say that the Barcelona board is willing to sell players.

"Actually, they're kind of desperate to do so. Does that mean they want to sell the most of the squad? No. But... are they open to study offers for most of them? Hell, yes!

"They were already desperate before the coronavirus. Now the situation has got even worse."
