English 12-year-old Joe Bryant builds Bundesliga stadiums out of Lego and then gets invites to the real thing
MEET the English kid building the Bundesliga out of Lego.
Brick by brick, 12-year-old Joe Bryant is faithfully recreating the stadiums of Germany’s top two divisions.
And his lifelike models have earned the Sussex schoolboy international recognition and a host of invites from clubs all keen to bring his Lego creations to meet the real thing.
So far, Joe has constructed Cologne, Monchengladbach, Schalke, Hertha Berlin, Werder Bremen, Mainz, Leverkusen, Augsburg, Freiburg, Stuttgart, Nuremberg and Bochum.
But while the Covid crisis has not stopped him building, it has halted his trips to Germany.
Joe said: “I was supposed to go to Freiburg at Easter but we had to cancel. I really miss Germany.
“The clubs are amazing, the fans are incredible, the football is exciting and they have bratwurst.”
Other Brits will be in action in Germany this weekend - although they are a bit older than Joe.
Jadon Sancho leads the charge as Borussia Dortmund face rivals Schalke.
Facing him will be fellow Englishman Jonjoe Kenny, who has been one of the surprise performers of the season.
