Chelsea star Jorginho becomes Juventus No1 transfer midfield target with Arthur wanting to stay at Barcelona

CHELSEA star Jorginho has become Juventus' No1 transfer target this summer after Arthur revealed he wants to stay at Barcelona.

The Serie A giants had hoped to land the Brazilian midfielder after Barca revealed all but three players - Lionel Messi, Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Frenkie De Jong - were on their transfer list.

But Arthur, 23, has revealed he doesn't want to move, with Jorginho now Juventus' top target, according to .

While losing the Italian playmaker would be a blow to Frank Lampard, the Chelsea chief is hoping to use him as bait to sign Miralem Pjanic.

The Juventus midfielder, 30, looks certain to leave the club this summer, with Barcelona themselves interested in him.

Aaron Ramsey is being primed for a bigger role in Maurizio Sarri's system next season, with Pjanic therefore deemed as surplus to requirements.

However, the three-club transfer saga looks set for a stalemate, ultimately.

Arthur doesn't want to quit Barcelona for Juventus, while Pjanic will only choose Barca - and not Chelsea.

Barcelona, though, won't have the money to make any moves unless they sell first after being hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic.

So they may need to force Arthur out and if they do that, Jorginho, 28, could yet stay at Chelsea having been the Italians' initial second choice.

But, Spanish outlet Sport revealed Arthur would be "given full freedom to decide his future in the next few days" - suggesting he may be exempt to the mass exodus.

Paris Saint-Germain star Leandro Paredes is another player on Juve's wishlist should they fail to sign the Brazilian.

Despite widely being regarded as the best defensive midfielder in the world, N'Golo Kante was shunted out of position by Sarri to accommodate Jorginho.

Their relationship could be the deciding factor in any move to Italy, with Chelsea aiming to replace him with Barcelona outcast Philippe Coutinho.
