Mario Balotelli misses yet another Brescia training session with ‘fed up’ owner Cellino calling transfer a ‘mistake’

BRESCIA owner Massimo Cellino has claimed that signing Mario Balotelli was a "mistake" after the Italian striker missed training yet again.

The 29-year-old is set to leave his hometown club at the end of the season, despite having two years left to run on his deal with the Serie A side.

Balotelli has scored just five goals in 19 games for Brescia, but it has been claimed that an agreement has been reached to mutually terminate his contract at the end of the campaign.

He has endured a turbulent time in Lombardy, facing racist chanting from opposition fans that his own supporters and president failed to condemn.

And it appears that the ex-Manchester City striker is already thinking of next term with stating he was absent for training on Sunday.

Cellino recently spoke of how he has been left "disappointed" by the maverick forward, as he stated he expects him to depart this summer.

Speaking to , he said: "I think we both made a mistake.

"I thought that coming to Brescia, which is his town, would commit him very much.

"At the same time, I think he was handled the wrong way by my previous coach [Eugenio Corini]."

Before adding: "He doesn't show up to training, he doesn't look very committed let's say, for the future of the club. That's the problem.

"Balotelli's got a contract in Serie A, but he doesn't have a contract in Serie B. So if we're relegated, Balotelli won't have a contract any more.

"Balotelli apparently doesn't like to stay in Italy any more because he's not acting that way."
