Barcelona transfer news: Neymar admits he is desperate for Paul Pogba to join him at Nou Camp
NEYMAR claims Paul Pogba is the one player Barcelona need to sign.
The 23-year-old Juventus star is a top transfer target for Manchester City andChelsea.
But Barca ace Neymar, 24, reckons the Catalan club is the right fit for the France midfielder.
When asked to name one player his club should sign, the Brazilian told La Liga’s official website: “Paul Pogba — he is a player who would fit in well here at Barcelona.”
Both players were named in the Fifa Team of the Year, with Pogba the youngest to make the FIFPro World XI since Lionel Messi’s inclusion in 2009.
And Neymar heaped more praise on the former Manchester Unitedpowerhouse, insisting he would love to add Pogba’s shirt to his own collection.
He said: “I would like to have Pogba’s shirt.
“He’s young, I like how he plays, how he behaves. I’d love to swap shirts with him.”
Incoming Man City manager Pep Guardiola wants to rebuild the team around Pogba once he arrives at the Etihad.
Reports in Spain say Guardiola has already been in touch with City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak to make clear the Juve midifielder should be their No 1 target.
But a former sporting director of the Turin club has already admitted he would ‘not be surprised’ to see new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte make a move for Pogba.
Pogba was an instrumental cog in Juve’s Champions League run last season, in which they were beaten in the final by Barcelona.
