Man Utd handed Jadon Sancho transfer ultimatum as Dortmund tell them to complete £108m deal by August 10 or it’s OFF
BORUSSIA DORTMUND have warned Man Utd they must sign Jadon Sancho by August 10 or the deal is off, according to reports.
The Bundesliga side are not willing to get embroiled in a transfer circus throughout the summer after slapping a £108million price-tag on the England winger.
Sancho is one of United's top transfer targets as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer plots to add young, hungry talent to his squad.
According to Bild, Dortmund are holding all the cards by setting a deadline, putting pressure on United to make their minds up over Sancho's future.
Premier League clubs are expected to vote on Thursday over whether to extend the transfer window past the October deadline.
It was initially scheduled to open on June 8 before the season was hampered but clubs will now hold talks whether deals can be completed before the season ends on July 26.
Dortmund have already stated they will not entertain any offers for the 20-year-old that fall below their £108m asking price.
It is reported in Germany that Sancho has already agreed personal terms with United and a fee between the two clubs remains the only stumbling block.
Former City starlet Sancho is expected to sign a five-year deal in the red half of Manchester worth a lucrative £140,000-a-week.
That is then likely to increase to £200,000-a-week over the course of his deal.
Despite United's keenness to complete the transfer, it is believed they are stumbling over his fee for numerous reasons.
One includes the financial impact coronavirus has had on football with clubs forced to tighten the pursestrings this summer.
It was reported how United's debts rocketed by £127.4m to a whopping £429.1m due to Covid-19 and the lack of Champions League football.
Solskjaer is also weighing up whether he needs to fork out such big money on Sancho following the emergence of Mason Greenwood.
The Norwegian boss has been hugely impressed with his current crop of forwards with Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba supplying Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Greenwood.

His side have scored 14 goals in five games since football resumed on June 19.
Youngster Daniel James is also waiting in the wings but could be loaned out next season to help his development.
Aston Villa's Jack Grealish remains another option and will be available for around half the price as he looks set to leave the Midlands club this summer.
