JOSE MOURINHO has salvaged Tottenham's season - and these stats prove it.
Only three clubs have accumulated more points than the Londoners since 'The Special One' took over in November.
Back then they were languishing in 14th position with European qualification hopes well and truly on the line.
Mauricio Pochettino was given the boot and Daniel Levy raised many eyebrows by bringing in a former Chelsea and Manchester United gaffer Mourinho.
Now Jose and his troops are only one point away from Wolves who sit in sixth and the final Europea League spot.
But if this season's FA Cup winners finish inside the top six, then seventh, where Spurs are now, would get into Europe.
EUROPE A PRIORITY
Only Liverpool with 59, Manchester City with 50 and resurgent Manchester United with 43 have collected more points that Spurs' 41.
Mourinho's troops sit a handy five points clear of fierce rivals Arsenal in the games since the Portuguese boss took over.
Speaking after his side's 3-1 win away at Newcastle on Wednesday, Mourinho hailed his side's resilience.
He also stressed how important it was that they qualify for Europe next season.
