Defoe insists there is ‘no comparison’ between Bournemouth and ‘massive’ Rangers after O’Hara’s ‘laughable’ comments

Speaking on , the Billericay Town gaffer said: "I wouldn’t want to disrespect the Rangers people because they are a huge football club but it’s a bigger job to potentially be the Bournemouth manager."

And Rangers hero Defoe, 37, was left shocked after hearing the outspoken pundit's comments.

The ace - who will miss through injury - has also played for the Cherries.

He said: "To be totally honest, when I saw it I laughed. I just couldn't believe it.

"I played for Bournemouth but to be honest there is no comparison. What he said was laughable."

Rangers legend Ally McCoist also destroyed O’Hara with a brutal one-line response about his career.

The former Spurs midfielder said: " didn't do it in England, he went to Sunderland and he flopped and he went back to Scotland.

"If he had the opportunity to sign for Bournemouth now, he would take take, he would take it and run."

McCoist instantly fired back and replied: "I was hopeless in England and I was still better than you."

Neil Warnock waded into the debate by claiming Celtic and Rangers would finish in the Premier League top six.

O'Hara had also angered the  faithful 

Celtic have won nine consecutive league titles with Rangers finishing second.
