RUSSIA’S Leonid Slutski will battle Roy Hodgson after agreeing to manage his country for FREE.

Hodgson earns £3.5million a year — more than any other Euro 2016 boss.

But Slutsky, whose side face England in Marseilles on Saturday, only gets expenses plus extra cash if Russia reach the knockout stages.

Russian sports minister Vitaly Mutko said: “He won’t even have a wage, just a certain bonus for completing tasks.”

Slutski, 45, boss of CSKA Moscow, succeeded ex-England chief Fabio Capello who banked £5.5m a year with the Russian Federation — and was handed a £10.5m pay-off when axed last summer.

He agreed to take the job with the federation £27m in debt although that has been cut to £6m.

NICOLA RIZZOLI, the 2014 World Cup final whistler, will referee England’s group opener for a second consecutive European Championships.

The Italian, 44, officiated in the 1-1 draw with France in Ukraine four years ago.

In 2010, he controversially sent off Swiss defender Stefan Lichtsteiner as Capello’s Three Lions won a 2010 Euro qualifier.

He was also in charge when Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw broke his leg against PSV in September.
