Man Utd ‘interested’ in Gareth Bale transfer while ‘Tottenham would love Real Madrid outcast but can’t afford him’

GARETH BALE will today report for Real Madrid pre-season training with Manchester United and Tottenham mulling over a bid for the wantway winger.

After seven years in Spain, the Wales international is yet again linked with a move away from Madrid after a tumultuous campaign under Zinedine Zidane.

Bale and his coach have never seen eye to eye, with problems dating back to Zidane's reported indifference to his star's stunning strike that won Real the Champions League in 2018.

Injury problems and poor form have left the 31-year-old on the fringes at the Bernabeu for several months.

And Bale's discord with Los Blancos appeared to come to a head when he wasn't selected for the squad to face Manchester City in August - a decision Zidane put down to the player himself.

The Frenchman said: "It was a personal conversation I had with him. He preferred not to play. The rest remains between me and him but he said he didn't want to."

The pair are set for face to face talks this week after Bale shows up for Real training, following his time away with Wales.

Spanish outlet report on all parties believing his time in the Spanish capital is up, but finding a new club is not without difficulties.

The Bernabeu bosses still believe they can make money back on the £85million signing.

However, the Red Devils have prioritised a bid for Jadon Sancho this summer.

Talks are described as deadlocked in that potential £108m move and the club may only look elsewhere when the October 5 transfer deadline looms.

Spurs, meanwhile, are now led by Jose Mourinho, the coach driving United's interest to sign Bale three years ago.

Yet they reportedly lack the funds to sign Bale, who earns around £600,000-a-week in Madrid.

Having been denied a move to China last summer, the winger recently admitted he is waiting on Los Blancos to finally green light a move away.

He told Sky Sports: "It's one of those situations if those options arise it's something I would look at, for sure. We'll see what happens.

"We have plenty of time in this transfer window and I guess a couple of others as well. Time will tell.

"It's not really in my hands, the decision is in Real Madrid's hands. They make things very difficult to be honest.

"Whatever goes on at Madrid doesn't really affect me."
