A move to the Premier League appears most likely with the Red Devils and Spurs considering making their move.

, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are leading the way and Real remain confident they'll make a late move.

They add that Bale would prefer a move to Manchester should Solskjaer come calling.

The Norwegian boss is in the market for a new winger this summer but his No1 priority remains Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho.

However, negotiations remain complicated and it looks increasingly unlikely the England winger will seal his £108m switch to Old Trafford.

Solskjaer still has until the October 5 deadline to try and land Sancho.

But he knows he can't afford to wait until the final moments of the transfer window and Bale's availability will certainly tempt him.

United also wouldn't rule out the opportunity of taking him on loan.

Bale made clear his desire to leave the Spanish champions while on international duty last week, despite previous reports he could decide to run down his contract on the Bernabeu sidelines.

He told Sky Sports: "What can I say? I want to play football.

"I am still motivated to play football so I guess it is on the club really.

"I can't do anything, they are in control of everything

"I have a contract so all I can do is carry on what I am doing and hopefully something comes up.

"It is in the club's hands and they have made things very difficult to be honest."

He made just 12 league starts last season, scoring twice.

Bale would leave Real Madrid with two league titles and four Champions League winners medals.
