EURO 2016: David Beckham hails ‘young, attacking performance’ from England
Ex-skipper takes to Instagram to say how impressed he was at how Three Lions acquitted themselves in group opener
DAVID BECKHAM insists there are plenty of positives to take from England's 1-1 draw with Russia.
Even though Roy Hodgson's team were disappointed to concede a late goal, former Three Lions skipper Becks says their opening group game at Euro 2016 was hardly a disaster.
Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier opened the scoring for England with a stunning free kick in the second half but England couldn’t capitalise on their dominance as Vasili Berezutski equalised late on with a towering header.
Beckham took to Instagram after the game to express his disappointment about the late equaliser but also to say how impressed he was with the way England played.
