Gary Neville set for return to Sky Sports studio after Euro 2016 after ill-fated spell as Valencia manager
Ex-Manchester United star to link up with Jamie Carragher on Monday Night Football for new Premier League season
GARY NEVILLE is close to finalising a return to Sky’s Monday Night Football next season.
Neville has not appeared on the programme since he decided to take his first steps in football management by taking charge at Valencia last season.
But the former Manchester United star’s adventure in Spain ended in disappointment when he was sacked after winning just ten from 28 games.
Neville is currently helping to plot England’s challenge for Euro 2016 glory as one of Roy Hodgson’s national team coaches in France.
But when the tournament is over he is likely to turn his back on other managerial opportunities to return to the television studios.
Neville developed a reputation as the best analyst in in broadcasting since quitting playing to move into the media, forging an excellent on screen relationship with Jamie Carragher.

When he left to move to Valencia, Sky are understood to have given him an open ended offer to return and that now seems the most likely option for the 41-year-old.
The Monday Night Football show will see a new presenter with David Jones coming in to anchor the programme following Ed Chamberlain’s move to head up ITV’s new racing output.
And though several top footballing figures impressed as guests during Neville’s absence, the return of the ex-United defender to work alongside Carragher will be a welcome move for Sky bosses and viewers.
